Volunteer Opportunities:

Volunteer Requirements:

• At least 15 years of age
• Completion of Volunteer Application
• Completion of  National Criminal Background Check
• Sign Central Registry Check
• Complete Volunteer Training Orientation.

The orientation consists of an interview with Unit Director and completion of the required gear up training program for new professionals and volunteers.  This program immediately gives the volunteer the basics about the Boys & Girls Club Movement.   

The gear up program is divided into three comprehensive training modules corresponding to the required knowledge of a Boys and Girls Club Youth Development Professional:  (1) New professional Orientation, (2) Basic Training and (3) Basic Activities. This training program was developed by the Boys and Girls Clubs National Organization and is administrated by a computer CD.  The total training time consist of 1-2 hours depending if each session has a successful completion of 80 percent of the activity questions being answered correctly.  The gear up CD will calculate the percentages of true/false and multiple-choice quizzes. The on-site supervisor of the gear up program will determine successful completion of the narrative activities.
